John Edmonds is the PPM Portfolio Development Manager at AXELOS global best practice, the company that own globally-recognized products such as PRINCE2, MSP and ITIL. He is the co-author of the recently launched AgileSHIFT and was also a member of the authoring team for the 2009 version of PRINCE2, and a reviewer of the 2017 edition.
Now, John is responsible for the AXELOS PPM portfolio, developing it in line with end user needs and market demand, ensuring AXELOS remains the market-leader in management guidance, accreditation and certifications.

Creating a culture of agility across the WHOLE organization – why agile is not just for project managers
Most organizations today recognize that the business landscape is changing, and if they want to survive they need to transform.
Often the response is that “we need to work in a more agile way”. Yet a frequent problem is the creation of isolated agile delivery teams unsupported by a wider organizational initiative.
These agile delivery teams need to interact with other business functions including: Finance, HR, Operations, Sales & Marketing and Legal. Often, these other teams do not know why an agile approach is being used, the benefits associated with it, or how best to enable that way of working. Plus, their traditional working processes are not set up to support agile.
This is where current approaches to organizational agility are failing.
In this session, John Edmonds, the PPM Portfolio Development Manager at AXELOS, will examine some of the challenges that organizations face today, and how they might embrace the need for transformation. He will explain how the creation of an enterprise-wide agility is beneficial to any organization and introduce some principles and practices for doing that.
