Ar. Haris je zakladatelem a ředitelem společnosti RDA-Harris Architects and Urban Planners se sídlem v Kuala Lumpur v Malajsii.
V roce 1992 byl jmenován hlavním architektem obřího 40hektarového projektu KLCC v centru Kuala Lumpuru a architektem rekordních Petronas Twin Towers, nejvyšší (dvoj)budovy světa. Krátce poté byl jmenován hlavním konzultantem pro přípravu urbanistických směrnic pro Putrajaya, nové správní město Malajsie.
Od té doby se jeho firma rozšířila a začala pracovat i mimo tuto zemi, od Maroka přes Blízký východ až po Indii a Japonsko. Za své úspěchy získala jeho kancelář řadu mezinárodních i místních ocenění, včetně B.I.D. Paris 2000, Zlaté medaile ARCASIA, Macao 2003, Zlaté medaile PAM, Kuala Lumpur 2002. V roce 2007 byl jeho návrh domu Serendah House v Malajsii nominován na cenu Aga Khan Award for Architecture 2005-2007 se sídlem v Ženevě. Od té doby firma získala mnoho dalších ocenění, včetně Asia-Pacific Property Awards 2015 a 2016.

A Post-Covid City: Connecting with the past and present ‘dots’… … rethinking Kuala Lumpur future
During the recent Covid lockdown, Ar. Haris was tasked to review the Kuala Lumpur Structure Plan 2040. The team has to rethink how the city should grow in post-Covid era, the future. It is a huge challenge, as it involves connecting with a multitude of ‘stake-holders’, ranging from the city hall, the public and the environment. He draws from his past experience in the country and abroad, as well as from the current global trends, to provide some answers.
While the focus is on Kuala Lumpur, the issues are similar and relevant to other cities across the globe: sustainability – economics, environment and society – to food security; and connectivity in larger senses: internet, urban mobility, ecology, traffic and people, etc. How does one connect all the dots?
Ar. Haris doesn’t have all the answers yet, but would like to share some thoughts.
